At the time, my M8.2 which I usually used with Zeiss 50mm sonnar was in service and ended up sold it as package for the intention of getting M9 or possibly 10. Once I got this Leica lens, Life got in the way and didn’t get to get another M camera, so the lens still in new condition. I put on B+W F-pro lens filter as soon as I got the lens. As I knew that this is a lens that you can keep forever and very versatile, astonishing engineering. I didn’t plan to sell it. However, With family situation, I reluctantly need to let it goes for now. I will definitely try to get this lens again when I have a chance. It’s definitely the lens to have if you can only have one lens for your camera. Perfect full frame 35mm street shooting. This lens is always kept in our dry cabinet with other cameras&lens. The aperture range starts at a fast f/1.4 for available light and stops all the way down to f/16 for use in many scenarios, such as landscapes or images requiring great depth-of-field. The optical design also allows this lens to remain compact with 9 elements in 5 groups, of which one has an aspherical surface to assist in control of aberrations. 

The lens features Leica's 6-bit coding for sending metadata to digital M cameras, allowing for proper frame lines to be shown as well as proper digital correction of lens aberrations to be done in camera. The 35mm lens can even focus as close as 2.3' in which close up performance is improved through the inclusion of a floating element in the design. The aperture also uses nine blades for smooth out-of-focus areas in your imagery.
